Where this comes from

The registry is built from two open datasets that each cover what the other misses: the tar1090 community database, which the ADS-B world maintains alongside the live feed, and OpenSky’s merge of national civil registries, which carries the operator, serial number and build year for fleets outside the US. Registries lag reality: a lease signed last month may take a while to land here.
